Greetings Friends,

As many of you know I've been off the radar for the past several months working on my latest project: a DVD of my music and images. Although it turned out to be more work than my research originally showed the final version is done and is set for release on March 6th. You can preview video samples from the DVD on my website and even pre order it at a special price. See the section below for details.

Speaking of images I just returned from a winter visit to southern Arizona where I got caught in a rare snow storm in Tucson! The next few days allowed me the opportunity of getting some shots of snow covered cacti and mountains. Two things that one does not normally think of as occurring in the same place. I've posted some of these photos in a new gallery and you'll find the link in section 4 below.

In harmony,
Scott August

2. NEW FREE MP3 & VIDEO, MUSIC DOWNLOAD:
"Raven's Exile"

DSCN7902_f400
Several year ago I had the pleasure of performing at the Phoenix flute circle biannual festival which they called the Flute Odyssey. This was held at the home of one of their member's, a very nice man named Trader Lee who has a spread out in east Mesa, one of Phoenix's suburbs. During that weekend I met some really great people and have become close friends with many of them.

I also met some very talented flute makers: Raymond Red Feather, Keith Stanford and Leonard McGann. Leonard had come all the way from the Carolinas to attend the festival and I took the opportunity to get one of his flutes. (I'll talk more about this flute in a later article as it has an unusual scale, actually two.) Right after I got the flute I recorded a short piece with it during one of my performances but for some reason I never took the time to post it, until now. It's called "Raven's Exile". Enjoy.
